Photographer and video artist Elisa Sighicelli (b 1948) explores light and motion as formal tools and subject matter. She often uses partially illuminated light boxes as backdrops for her photographs, altering our perception of the image by masking out some areas with paint applied to the reverse and backlighting other areas.
