Recognized in her lifetime as one of Britain's few leading females in her field, Gordine was a sculptor in bronze, architect, interior designer and lecturer who was widely identified between the late 1930s and early 1960s as one of Britain's few leading female sculptural talents Her early career was influenced by the Noor Eesti group of artists who favoured Art Nouveau.
