Quarter brown cloth cover with paper spine label is toned, soiled, worn, and frayed at corners. Boards and spine are straight. Binding is tight. Pages have light foxing and creased but in good condition. Engraved frontispiece of the Huron Chief. Gift inscription to original owner, Angus Cooke, on front end sheet. Cooke was a sergeant in the 71st Regiment of Foot in Dundalk, Scotland. He served with the Regiment throughout the Napoleonic Wars in Spain, France, and Belgium. Comes with letter of provenance.
