Original wood block hand carved etching. 2 center pages of Harper's Weekly February 24, 1866. A wood engraving created by the renowned artist Thomas Nast. This artwork commemorates a significant historical moment: President Abraham Lincolns visit to Richmond, Virginia, the Confederate capital, just two days after its fall to Union forces on April 3, 1865, and shortly before the end of the American Civil War. Condition is GOOD. Small chips in bottom boarder. Tanning and small foxing spots, but eminently collectible with a clear image. Size is 16" x 22". Mounted on stiff board and protected with mylar.
