304pp. 32 plates, many of which are stunning chromolithographs; some photos, some engravings. Also a comprehensively illustrated section on marks and monograms at the end. Some of the plates and first pages are loose (no loss), up to page 13 - though some of the plates may have fallen out of their correct position in the book. The book has been given fresh endpapers. The loose pages are chipped and browned round the edges; there is generally some browning to the edges of the pages. Top edge gilt. The spine is well bumped at head and foot and the cover is rubbed at the bottom edge. The cardboard slipcase in which the book is currently residing belongs to another Japanese publication!
