Volume II comes with original dust jacket, with repeated decoration and text printed on. Top edge gilt. Both volumes contain embedded and plate illustrations, alongside a fold-out map of Morocco in volume II. Boards are in very good condition with slight wear to the corners but minimal marking. Binding is firm and hinges strong. Dust jacket missing for volume I, and slightly torn and marked in volume II. Stitching visible at the central openings of both volumes but all pages secure and intact. Very minimal foxing to page edges. Internally clean and bright. Westermarck spent several years in Morocco, visiting towns and tribes throughout the country, and learning about their language and culture
