Samples illustrated to demonstrate the graphic properties of the papers Frontispiece photogravure of the mills of the Mittineague Paper Company by John Andrew & Son, Boston. No table-of-contents pages. No copyright page. Extremities a bit bumped or rubbed, internally in excellent condition overall a very good catalog of Strathmore's line of quality deckle edge book papers showing samples. Horace Moses, opened the Mittineague paper mill in West Springfield, MA in 1892. Soon after opening the first mill, Mr. Moses visited the Valley of Strathmore in Scotland. The thistle was in full bloom and the beauty of the site impressed Horace Moses so much that in 1899 the Strathmore brand name was born.
