1938. -- PEEK-WA STORIES - 'INDIAN LEGENDS OF CALIFORNIA'-- book signed in 1947 by author Chief Eaglewing (Grover C. Sanderson). Chief Eaglewing was a Klameth Indian, respected for contributing to preserving Californian Native American culture. He and his wife were authors of the 'Peek-Wa Stories'. Chief Eagelwing also worked with Univ. of California's Dept. of Anthropology, travelled, lectured and acted in Hollywood's silent films.
