He enlisted in the Royal Garrison Artillery and acheived the rank of Major. After his retirement from the Army he setled in Durham and married Mabel Awmack Robson in 1909 (Born 1885) . Bertrand Rambaut is listed as a Director Of Hour Mills, Durham (retired Army Captain) - 1911 census. Articles written by B. R. R. Rambaut include: (i.)
