Both envelope and letter with the Moor crest: "A Moor's Head In Profile Couped At The Shoulders"; and motto: "Moribus Antiquis" (Ancient custom). Letter from George Moor to Douglas Edwardes-Ker on the death of his Father. ** George Moor was born in April 1877 in Woodbridge, Suffolk, the son of Caroline and George. He had one sister. He died in January 1941 in Suffolk at the age of 63. He lived at Java Lodge, Pettistree, Suffolk. *** Douglas Rous Edwardes-Ker (1886-1979), Lieutenant-Colonel. British army officer seconded to Royal Engineers as chemical adviser and Assistant Director of Gas Services on Western Front, 1915-1918. Parents: George Cordy Edwardes-Ker ( 1827-8 - April 1901 ) , married at Woodbridge on 21 April 1885, to Edith Mary Rouse (20 April 1857-20 February 1952), eldest daughter of Revd. Rolla Charles Meadows Rouse, rector of Woodbridge. In 1891. George Cordy Edwardes-Ker, was a surgeon, living at Church Street, Woodbridge with his wife and their two children, Douglas Rouse (1886-1979) and Christabel (1887-1972).
