Facsimile reprint of a scarce booklet, originally printed and published by S.H.Cowell, Buttermarket, Ipswich, 1893. Witherpole House was once a mansion situated on the Christchurch estate, Ipswich, Suffolk. 25cms x 17cms. Pp.35 (printed on one side of pages only), with ten full page illustrations and descriptive letterpress by the author (sadly all faintly copied with print loss). White stiff card covers with "letterbox" viewing opening to front which has been repaired with clear tape. Good.** "John Shewell Corder (1856 in Westoe, South Tyneside 19 July 1922 in Ipswich) was an English architect, artist and antiquarian.Corder has been credited with over 100 commissions. These include: Boscombe House, 65 Anglesea Road, Ipswich, (Grade II listed building); Hacheston Lodge, The Street, Hacheston; Extra classrooms for Woodbridge School in Burkitt Road, Woodbridge, Suffolk; Work on the Black Boy public house, Sudbury; and Tranmer House, 1910. Home of Edith Pretty during the 1938-39 excavation of the Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon burial mounds." (wiki).
