All edges gilt. Pp.96, frontispiece and vignette to title page plus 10 further engraved illustrations by Arthur Hughes. Bright blue cloth with gilt illustrated title to font, minor lean to spine, title to spine dulled. Lovely copy of a scarce first edition of this title. VG.** Christina and her brother, the Pre-Raphaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, were friends with Lewis Carroll [Charles Lutwidge Dodgson].** Although he never became an official member of the Pre-Raphaelite group of painters, Arthur Hughes was strongly associated with the group.
