xxviii + 556 pp, index, bibliography, 10 charts including 3 fold-out, numerous tables. Black cloth with gold lettering, a little rubbed on spine. Spine slightly slanted, corners bumped, a little edge wear esp. at top and base of spine. Owner's name on front end paper, title page has 'died Oct 19, 1979' under author's name. Darkening to half-title and facing page caused by newspaper clipping (NY Times Feb 15, 1948) laid in. The clipping is a book review of "One Thousand Americans" by George Seldes entitled 'Behind the Facade of Democracy'. Jacket has 2" chunk missing from top of spine with sunning to remainder of spine, moderate edge wear and some small tears, a little darkening. Inscribed and signed by author on front end paper. Overall, a nice copy. "Professor Davis has diligently gathered together a wealth of specific and concrete material to illustrate the anarchic economic and moral conditions under capitalism. The concreteness of the book ought to commend it as good anti-capitalistic propaganda for general consumption." - The Nation; 7" - 9" Tall; Signed by Author
