A small (12cm x 6.5cm) volume showing rounded corners with boards exposed, threads showing at endpapers, extensive prior ownership notations on fixed endpapers - some contemporary to publication. Head and foot of elaborately decorated spine are missing (.5 to 1 cm of leather). 4 raised bands. Solidly bound nevertheless. This edition is rare, though Erasmus' works have been widely reprinted over the centuries. A very nice copy.
