Lay served as one of the six original staff officers under Gen. Eaker at the beginning of the war and flew in the 97th, 100th and 487th Bomb Groups. He is best known for his collaboration with Sy Bartlett in authoring the novel Twelve O'Clock High and adapting it into a major film. Russet cloth.
