full color pictorial paper wraps, 112 pages, with order form laid-in, wrapa have edge tears and remains of old tape (see scan), back wraps has tears which are repaired with acid-free tape. a very scarce item of Island merchantile history. Hundreds of items offered at depression prices. "Robert Tinson Holman began to build his commercial enterprise in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, in 1857 at a small shop on Water Street. By 1861 he was prospering and had moved to a location near the corner of Water and Spring Streets. Through the 1860's the burgeoning wholesale business necessitated additions to the store and the building of a large warehouse. In 1875 Summerside contractor John Corbett was hired to build a four-storey brick warehouse which fronted on Water Street. This was followed in 1893/94 by the building of a three-storey brick store stretching 134 feet along Water Street. This emporium employed about 60 people and was the largest retail store of its kind in the province. When R.T. Holman died in 1906 the business passed into the hands of his sons Harry T. and James LeRoy who soon ventured into mail-order merchandising, printing a twice-yearly catalog which continued publication well into the 1930s. A branch store was opened in Charlottetown in 1923". with thanks to Archives Council of Prince Edward Island
