Donnelley & Sons Company Chicago Illinois and Crawfordsville, Indiana. Designed by Michael Stancik, Jr. The type for the text is twelve point Barbou, which R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company commissioned the Monotype Corporation Ltd. of London to cut under the direction of Stanley Morison and John Dreyfus specially for The Papers of Benjamin Franklin, published by the Yale University Press. It is based on the St. Augustine Ordinaire of Pierre Simon Fournier, whose types Franklin used in his press at Passy. In this volume it is combined with Frederick Goudy's Deepdene series. The book was printed by web offset lithography. The paper is Mohawk Paper Mills Vellum. The cloth for the binding was made by Industrial Coatings Group Incorporated. Colophon
