Possible 1st edition - explanation to follow. Hardback; colour frontis; 1 of the 2 b/w plates present; (1 missing) ; book fits all of Sue Sims point for 1st editions in the following respects - blue, black lettering on front & spine. Front cover has girl in green playing tennis; spine has girl in green & black against silhouette of city ; 312pp; illus by Elsie Wood; frontis has correct title & is colour; the 1 remaining plate is in the correct position and is b/w as specified; the dedication is correct; the flyleaf list of titles is correct. The only discrepency is in her afternote of 4 end papges including 5 Oxenham titles - this copy has a catalogue of 4 pages or 8 sides. The Oxenham titles are spread out between various lists, there is one list of just Oxenhams, but it only has 4 titles in it, so it is obviously not the same. Thus tghis is either a 1st with a different catalogue attached to the back or a very early reprint. ; Abbey Girls; 8vo 8" - 9" tall
