Small octavo, softcover bound in pictorial black-and-white wraps. The wraps are slightly bumped with an area of darkening to the upper right side of the front wrap. A price-sticker has been partially removed from the rear wrap. xvi, [ii] & 126 pages. Very good. "The Fool" is based on the life of farm laborer turned poet John Clare and is published along with the six "Clare poems" written by Bond at the same time as the play. "We Come to the River" is the libretto for an opera with music by Hans Werner Henze, which was due to receive its British premiere at Covent Garden Opera House in July 1976.
