The dust jacket is lightly rubbed, chipped & soiled with several small pieces out & with an erasure on the front panel. There is an owner's address stamp on the rear fold. 272 pages. Full-page illustrations, head- & tail-pieces and numerous vignettes in black & white by Henry B. Kane. The same owner's address stamp appears on both pastedowns & on the rear endpaper. Very good in a good dust wrapper. First edition.John Rowlands describes his life on Cache Lake, located in forests of northern Ontario reached only by canoe. His neighbors included a Cree Indian chief and an artist. Included are descriptions and drawings of his handmade backwoods inventions and woodcraft projects.
