Quarto [12 inches high by 9 inches wide] decorative cloth in a dust wrapper. 305 & [1] pages plus colophon. Profusely illustrated in black & white and color with photographic illustrations and reproductions of paintings, drawings & architectural plans. Near fine. "Vysehrad through the Ages" is a largely pictorial history of a renowned monument and symbol of the Czech nation. An ancient hill-fort above the Vltava River, it went through periods of striking architectural activity followed by depredation and decay. Each generation seems to have left its mark "enriching, completing or demolishing the work of the preceding generation." The text is in Czech with summaries in German, Russian, English and French. Dust jacket present.
