Small quarto [8-3/4 inches high by 7 inches wide], pictorial cloth in a dust wrapper. The binding is bumped with some light spotting. The top edge is darkened with the head of the spine slightly frayed. The dust jacket is chipped with pieces out. There is a tear to the front fllap & the flap is nearly detached from the front panel. Half-title, title, [1] leaf & 89 pages plus colophon. Illustrated with a black-and-white frontispiece by Laurence Housman. Good in a fair dust wrapper. Second printing of the third edition.From the library of children's book collector William Macey Stone, whose book label is mounted on the front pastedown. The book label depicts a barefoot scholar in black robes and a peaked hat kneeling to inscribe a scroll with a feather pen by candlelight. "William Macey Stone Hys Booke" can be read upside down on the completed section of the scroll. Penciled along the bottom of the label is "Mac Xmas 1911". Dust jacket present.
