Card, 3-1/2 inches high by 4- 5/8 inches wide, inscribed "very sincerely yours / David Warfield / 1925". The card is darkened & small pieces of tape adhere to the corners on the verso where the card has been removed from an album. Good. David Warfield [1866-1951] was an American stage actor and a leading performer in comedy. His first stage appearance was in 1888 in "The Ticket of Leave Man". Two years later he moved from California to New York City where he was discovered and promoted by David Belasco. Two of his best known roles were in "The Auctioneer" in which he played 1,400 times, and as Anton von Barwig in "The Music Master", a role which he performed more than 1,000 times from 1904-1907.
