The covers are bumped & soiled and the spine is rubbed and darkened. Title label is also darkened and chipped. [xiii], vi, [i] & 232 deckle-edged pages, illustrated with a pictorial title page with a sienna-toned illustration of David Garrick as Abel Drugger, preceded by a pictorial "The King's Library" series title page. The front hinge is cracked and the edges of a few pages are lightly darkened. Very good. Limited edition of 480 copies printed by Alexander Moring at the De La More Press.The Alchemist is number I of the De La More Press Quartos published as a volume of "The King's Library" series edited by Israel Gollancz.
