Octavo, softcover bound in pictorial wrappers with an illustration of the New York Observer building on the front cover & of the Equitable Life Assurance Society on the rear cover. The wraps are stained & chipped with a tear to the top inner corner of the rear wrap. The spine is torn with pieces out. 200 pages. Illustrated in black & white with tables & pictorial ads. There is some light rippling to the pages with some light vertical creasing. Good. Among the contents are statistics and directories prepared by the various departments of the newspaper, including the Astronomical, Civil and Commercial, Ecclesiastical, Educational, Agricultural and Insurance Departments. Among the many advertisements are pictorial ads for Remington guns, Gold Medal threshing machines, John Stevens street cars and omnibuses, Singer sewing machines and several life insurance companies.
