Arthur Mursell's signature on a 5/8 inch wide by 1-7/8 inch wide slip of paper mounted on a 2-3/4 inch wide 3-1/4 inch wide piece of paper cut out from an autograph album. Slightly soiled with minor glue stains. Good. The English nonconformist theologian Arthur Mursell (1831-1914) was virulently opposed to labor unions. Speaking of labor leaders Mursell wrote "during times of strike . while setting up as working men, they appear before their dupes well fed and clothed, their food and clothing obtained out of the incidental profits of the very strikes they foster and protract, while men, women, and children are lean, hungry and half-naked through taking their advice."
