The rear cover is rubbed with 3 small white stains. Half-title, title, [2] leaves, 170 & [1] pages plus colophon & 2-page publisher's catalog. Illustrated with 18 black-and-white plates. There are small stains to a couple of pages, else the contents are near fine. A study of the element of the devout in the work of painters of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, including Michelangelo, Correggio, Titian, Holbein, Raphael, Durer, Christus am Olberg, Rubens, Murillo, Leonardo da Vinci and Rembrandt.
