The mystery fiction author Mary Roberts Rinehart's signature boldly penned on 2-3/4 inch high by 3-7/8 inch wide card stock. There are remnants of mounting tape on the verso. Near fine. The American mystery fiction author Mary Roberts Rinehart (1876-1958) was often called the American Agatha Christie though her first mystery novel preceded Christie's by over a decade. Considered the inventor of the "Had-I-But-Known" school of mystery novels, Mary Roberts Rinehart is credited with coining the phrase "The butler did it" in her novel "The Door", although she did not use that exact phrase.
