An early owner has penned a quote at the bottom of the half-title. Good. First trade edition of the poet's first book.The Dutch poet and essayist Jakobus Cornelis Bloem (1887-1966) was a great admirer of the symbolist poet Charles Baudelaire. He published fourteen volumes of poetry. He won the Constantijn Huygensprijs, one of the country's highest literary awards in 1949 and the P. C. Hooft Award for his literary oeuvre in 1952. The J.C. Bloem-pozieprijs poetry award is named after him. First Edition.
