; This copy is noteworthy for having an elaborately illuminated presentation inscription on the front free endpaper, signed by A W Reed [Alexander Wyclif]. The presentation is to Mr F. W. Moor, from St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and Sunday School, Trentham. Reed's uncle A. H. Reed was a collector of mediaeval illuminated manuscripts and early bibles. His collection is now housed in the Dunedin Public Library. The firm of A. H. & A. W. Reed was a major publishing house in New Zealand. 280 pages + colour frontispiece + 9 plates. 3 full page maps. Blue cloth covers with gilt lettering on spine. No. 270 of a limited edition of 1000 copies. Signed by the author. Contains extracts from the diaries and correspondence of three agents of the Church Missionary Society - Thomas Kendall, William Hall, and John King.
