Moderate darkening and foxing to the cloth of the front board, along the upper margin and the fore margin. Moderate foxing to page edges. A few spots of foxing internally. Small contemporary bookseller's label on front endpaper "Newbold's Bookshop [. . .] Dunedin". A couple of small 1/2" abrasions to rear endpaper. The folding map has a couple of small stains, and also a 1" tear to the blank stub.; Volume Two only of two volumes. This is the 1929 reprint of the second edition. viii, (301)-585 pages + colour frontispiece + 23 illustrations on 18 plate leaves + 1 folding map. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine.
