Half-title: Pantheon Litteraire. Litterature Grecque. Histoire. Tall 8vo. XIV, [2], 768 pp. Text in double columns. Early quarter calf, spine stamped in ornate gilt design incorporating the title, marbled paper over boards, marbled endsheets, all edges marbled; extremities scuffed, short crack on upper hinge. Very good. An edition of "the first military writers of antiquity." Buchon studied in Bourges, and then became a tutor in England and in 1818 published a Voyage to Ireland. In 1822, he translated the volume of Greek Antiquities by Robinson.
