Series: Helvetica Physica Acta, Vol. 35, Fasc. 2. Offprint. pp. 98-112. Original wrappers. Very good. Abstract: The zero-mass representations of the inhomogeneous Lorentz group are considered as contractions of the representations for real and imaginary masses. It is shown that all zero-mass representations may be obtained from contracting either real mass or imaginary mass representations, but that it is more reasonable to associate the representations describing zero-mass particles with infinite angular momentum with contractions of the imaginary mass representations. / Robinson was a British physicist who spent most of his career at the Australian National University. He was former president of the Australian Mathematical Society. "Although Irish background, Derek grew up in Southern England. He was working in Switzerland, Germany, France and the USA. Derek spent ten years in Marseille as Professor of Theoretical Physics before moving to Australia. He was Professor of Mathematics at the University of New South Wales from 1978-1982. Since then he has been at the Institute of Advance Studies at the Australian National University . From 1988-1992 Derek was Chairman of the Academic Board and until 1996 he became President of the Australian Mathematical Society." :: web-source.
