Paperback. Book Condition: Very Fine. MIT Instrumentation Laboratory, Cambridge, MA 1969. First Edition. 1st Printing. 122 pages. Nice Firm Clean copy ! In binder. Size: 4to 9.75 - 12'' tall. J. Halcombe Laning Jr became a key contributor to the 1960s race to the moon, with pioneering work on space-based guidance systems for the Apollo moon missions. From 1955 to 1980, he was deputy associate director of the MIT Instrumentation Laboratory. FILLIP is a list processing system developed by MIT / IL to facilitate digital simulation of logic circuits and automatic drawing of circuit schematics. The system has generalized capabilities for setting up and processing data files in list structures that accurately reflect all logical interrelationships among the constituent data items. Each such file may contain over eight million bytes of data. The system supports a user language in which storage, input/ output, test, arithmetic and other standard processing operations may be specified. A powerful indirect-addressing mechanism facilitates both access to the data and iteration of procedures. Programs written in the FILLIP language are themselves stored in list structures and may be manipulated as if they were data. Storage allocation and garbage collection are handled dynamically.
