Edited with an Introduction by Norman Neuerberg. xl, 100 [1] pp. Oblong folio, cloth-backed decorated paper-covered boards with printed paper label on spine, in publisher's plain white wrapper. Illustrations & plates from sketches & paintings by Ford, a few in color including tipped-in frontispiece. Most of Ford's drawings and paintings were executed in the early 1880's. The patterned cloth used in the binding was typical of the wallpapers and decorations found in the California Missions. Prospectus laid in. Condition: A new copy; absolutely pristine but with a couple of small nicks to the publishers wrapper.
