I took Boston and the date, 1915 from WorldCat's guesses. WorldCat lists a total of 32 copies in libraries though many of these are not this first edition. The book is an interesting and reasonably thoroug history of the founding of several Southern schools for African-Americans, started in the South by Baptists after the Civil War. The book includes short biographies of the men and women who founded each institutution along with a photograph of these founders. Institutions are: Fireside Schools - Nashville TN, Coleman College - Gibsland LA, Roger Williams University - Nashville TN, Hartshorn Memorial College - Richmond VA, Richmond Theological Seminary - Richmond VA, Wayland Seminary - Washington DC, Virginia Union University - Richmond VA, Spelman College - Atlanta GA, Morehouse College - Atlanta GA, Mather Junior College - Beaufort SC, Shaw University - Raleigh NC, and Jackson College - Jackkson MS. Uncommon book with hard tofind information and photographs.
