This is a collection of short stories, poems and other occasional works by Mary Anne Harris Gay who makes it plain on the title page that she is from Decatur, Georgia. Gay sold this book from door to door after the Civil War to support herself and her relatives. Though lampooned by Mark Twain, the book went through eleven editions. Gay is more famous for her later book, Life in Dixie during the War. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 265 pages
