Spine is slit lower 2/3, pulled frpm staples. Interior VG, minor toning. Features an article on doubling your private income. Many of the ads are for supplies for the military and suggestions for gifts for soldiers in WWI. ; B&W Illustrations; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 19 + ads pages; Punch was a British humor and satire magazine that began publication in 1841. This is a bound copy of the complete1887 edition, which is divided into two sections/volumes, each with separate pagination. According to Wikipedia, Punch "was subtitled The London Charivari, as a reference to a satirical humour magazine published in France as Le Charivari. Reflecting their satiric and humorous intent, the two editors took for their name and masthead the anarchic glove puppet, Mr. Punch, of Punch and Judy; the name also referred to a joke made early on about one of the magazine's first editors, Lemon, that 'punch is nothing without lemon.' " Punch was responsible for the word "cartoon" as a comic drawing. Nearly every page has drawings, and many of the cartoons are full page. Large, heavy volume -- may require extra postage.
