Quarterbound leather with green pebbled cloth. Gilt titles and decoration on spine. Some edge, surface and corner wear, but square and securely bound. The front hinge has been reinforced and some endpapers may have been removed though the ffep is present and the pieces of paper that remain may have been part of the reinforcement. The repair is evident but unobtrusive. All issues of the newspaper are present and in good condition with light toning. Complete run of this magazine-like newspaper from July to December, 1856, plus the January 10 issue from 1857. Many beautiful illustrations. This is more like Harper's than a newspaper.
