Inside pages clean and binding is tight.Frances Willard was an active suffragette and the head of the Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) in the latter part of the 19th Century and was one of the most famous women in the world. She was the first woman to be honored by a statue in Statuary Hall of the U. S. Capitol. This is a biography by Willard's long-time secretary, and includes character sketches and memorial tributes by many prominent people, including Edward Everett Hale, Dr. Milton S. Terry, Mary Lowe Dickenson, Susan B. Anthony, Booker T. Washington, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and others, with an Introduction by Lady Henry Somerset.
