Katharina Josefa Lanner [1829 - 1908] known as Katti, was a Viennese ballet dancer and choreographer who settled in London in 1875 and was responsible for establishing the institutional basis for ballet in England. She produced a great many ballets for the Empire Theatre of Varieties from 1887 until her death and is notable as the first woman to make a career of choreography.
