Slip-song, 140 x 195 mm. on blue/grey paper. George Norton is one of the earliest printers in Henley, possibly the successor to Adams; he was active from c. 1789 to c. 1815, specialising in poetry and theology. The British Book trade Index lists him as librarian/owner of a circulating library/printer/bookseller. This short 8 line poem is an early work on cruelty to animals, with a stark warning of God’s vengeance to such perpetrators. No locations traced.
