1st Edition. Cloth rubbed. With a presentation inscription from the author “To Maysie, (”Sunshine”) whom I may see again. From Henry. (moonshine alas). 2.45 a.m. 23rd April 1932.” a further note from the author below “(Maysie Gray, the revue actress, met at a party. Young, slim, very gay. Later, a stout party writing romantic fiction. I never had a line from her after signing her this book. HW Sept 1963)” An enclosed note, possibly in his wife’s hand “Perhaps - Henry dear - because you obviously never gave it to her! See also last page - same party” The final page has a few doodles including “Delano Ames His Right Thumb Print.” From the library of Henry Williamson, with a book ticket bearing his owl device. Almost certainly Maisie Greig, who was married to the American detective fiction author Delano Ames whose thumb print appears here, together with a drawing of drunken owl “After a Tomlinson Cocktail - Tommy - 4/20/32”
