Handbill, 210 x 150 mm. rather browned. A fragile throw away leaflet on poor paper giving cost comparisons of the last liberal government of 1895 compared to the current Tory government of 1905. Founded in 1946 by Charles Dickens, the Daily News was bought by Quaker chocolate manufacturer George Cadbury in 1901 and it campaigned on old age pensions, anti-sweat shop labour and anti war themes with contributors including H.G. Wells, G.K. Chesterton and George Bernard Shaw.
