560 x 205 mm. Vellum, with original calligraphy and watercolours. A fine illuminated presentation showing the different aspects of the rice trade of Burma addressed to Ernest Pandorf on the jubilee of his arrival in Burma. This would have been originally enclosed in a presentation casket, though this is not present here as the address was likely framed at one time and exhibited in a place of honour in the recipient’s home. Waterlow & Sons, apart from being printers and engravers, were one of the leading producers of original presentation addresses of the period. This example is particularly attractive showing scenes of Burmese life and occupations.
