Pen and ink on paper with white corrections, 255 x 190 mm. with a couple of pencil printer’s marks. In later mount. The original illustration used in Christina Hole’s Witchcraft in England published in 1945 [see page 90]. "A servant of Nicholas Starkie taking her child to be 'dispossessed' by Hartlay the conjurer." Unlike many of Peake’s illustrated books, a great many of the actual illustrations used were sold and have appeared on the market over the years.
