Attractively produced volume provides the life story and showcases the artwork of Norman Rockwell with over 659 illustrations, 129 in full color (many of which fold out). Included are numerous photos of the artist at work and in his everyday life. Also provided are dozens of examples of his artwork. This Reader's Digest edition followed the 1975 publication of this work by Harry N. Abrams. --- Painter and illustrator Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) became famous for his Saturday Evening Post magazine covers, the subjects of which were often ordinary Americans painted in realistic style. He was dismissed as a mere illustrator by many in the art world, but with time has developed a wide, appreciative following as a truly great painter. --- In full bright red cloth-covered boards with silver and blue foil titling on cover & spine. Jacket features Rockwell image on front. --- This Near Fine volume is clean, bright and unmarked, inside and out.
