Stated second printing, October 1938, of Anne Morrow Lindbergh's description of a journey by air across the South Atlantic from Africa to South America with her famous husband Charles in 1933. The couple had to surmount difficulties to make the crossing, including waiting for the right wind to arise, thus the title. With several maps and a foreword by Mr. Lindbergh and a black & white drawing of the Southern Cross to half title page. Also with endpaper maps of this and other flights made by the Lindberghs in their plane, the Tingmissartoq. --- In red cloth-covered boards with image of float plane to front cover and titling to spine, both in gilt; blue topstain. Volume lacks the dust jacket. --- With inked gift inscription to half title page and lightly sunned spine, otherwise a clean, bright, tightly-bound copy lacking apparent damages.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); 275 pages
