An attractive Heritage Press edition in slipcase of Henryk Sienkiewicz's historical novel, set in Rome amongst the Christians during the reign of Nero. This work first appeared in installments in 1895 & 1896. Translated from the Polish by Jeremiah Curtin. With sepia-toned illustrations by Salvatore Fiume and an introduction by Harold Lamb. Slipcase covered in brown paper. --- With scratches to spine title block and spine cloth is mildly discolored, else a tightly-bound, unmarked, sound copy. Slipcase with a few scratches and soiled spots but structurally in great shape.
