An attractive Heritage Press edition in slipcase of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning 1927 novel. This is the story of an Incan rope bridge in Peru that collapsed and one man's multi-year effort to trace the lives of the victims who happened to be on it when it went down. With color lithograph illustrations by Jean Charlot and an introduction by Granville Hicks. Sandglass leaflet laid in (New York, no.II: 27). --- In tan and blue cloth-covered boards with black and gilt illustrations on covers. Titling in gilt on spine; textblock edges stippled in blue. Volume housed in tan paper-covered slipcase. --- With a little sunning to spine, otherwise volume is in excellent shape with clean, unmarked and bright interior.
